Dutch craft beer has come a long way over the last 30 years, transforming the Netherlands from ‘lager-land’ to honouring the country’s rich history of beer making and reinstating it as a great craft beer producing nation.
It is our mission to introduce the UK to these great beers. In 2023 we found our home in Bermondsey, becoming a top destination in the Bermondsey Beer Mile. We were glad to be able to enrich this unique street with beers from twenty-five different Dutch brewers, including Uiltje Brewery, Kompaan Beers, and ‘t IJ Brewery.
We have dozens of different beer styles, from classic recipes dating back to the year 1407 to hyper modern cryo-hopped DIPAs. Beers are rotated regularly to ensure there is always something new to try (while making sure the classics like IJwit, Uiltje Bird of Prey and various La Trappe beers are always available). We also import exceptional spirits including Gin 1689, Hooghoudt, & Full Circle.
We host all kinds of events, including Meet the Brewer, Abbey beers tastings and six course dining with matching beers.
The main event of the year though, is Koningsdag. It’s the birthday of the Dutch king, which is celebrated by every single Dutch person, and we host events for up to 1,200 people. The day includes a full-blown polonaise (A stately Polish dance) and is always pretty chaotic! Currently, we have 30 beers on draught, but this will be extended to 68 lines by the end of the year. This will make us the biggest Dutch beer bar anywhere in the world.
