13 years ago, Nick picked up a ‘just add water’ homebrew kit and never looked back. Tired of creating mess in his own small kitchen he opened Paddle Mash brewery in 2022.
Located in the heart of the Mile, Paddle Mash doesn’t just brew their own. The only incubator in London for start-up brewers, they are on a mission to bring the pleasure and art of nano brewing to everyone. With the ethos that everyone should be able to brew amazing beer using the highest quality kit regardless of space, they started teaching their incredibly popular brewing classes.
All their classes start with – of course – a beer and a chat through the history and process of brewing. You will get to brew your own amazing beer all the way from mashing your grain, hopping the wort, through to transferring for fermentation. After three weeks in the fermenter, you will come back to collect your very own beers, canned especially for you!
You will learn from the best. Alongside Nick is Dave, who brings over a decade of experience of craft beer and microbrewery experience, and Martin who well as running an online beer shop, is always looking to expand his knowledge and pursues a keen interest in the science of brewing.
If you simply want to come and enjoy a leisurely beer after work, you can do that too! Ingredients are sourced from all over the world, from Motueka hops from New Zealand to Canadian Redvine. One of the newest Taprooms on the Mile, they serve a wide range of craft beer, wine, cocktails, beer snacks, and pizza.
