We love jerky! What we don’t love is all the sugar, salt and preservatives that tend to come with it. So, in 2011 we started to make our own, setting up our tiny one-bedroom flat in London to produce craft British beef, turkey and pork jerky.
The jerky we were producing was an instant hit with friends, colleagues and family, and soon what had been a hobby became a full-time business. We moved out of the tiny flat (much to Mrs Billy Franks’ delight) into our very own, brand new jerky ranch. So Billy Franks was born..
We are still in the same ranch today, with several awards under our belt including a Great Taste award, Young British Food, and Artisan Jerky of the Year. Our guiding principles remain the same; our product has the lowest salt, sugar and carb content of any on the market (in fact we contain ten times less sugar than some of our competitors). There are no nitrates, nitrites or preservatives of any kind, and contains up to 2.5 times more protein than our nearest competitor.
Our commitment to animal welfare remains resolute and we only use the very best grass-fed beef and free-range Turkey.
We are incredibly proud of our jerky and continue to take pride in creating our intensely flavoured, chewy jerky that you can really sink your teeth into. It’s the perfect snack to accompany a cold beer on a hot summer’s afternoon.
